安集海大峡谷
今天我们要一起“游览”的是新疆沙湾县~Amazing China（美丽中国）第1集：安集海大峡谷。
In Xinjiang,China,the beautiful scenery can often take miraculous forms.
在中国新疆美景常常是以奇迹的形态出现的。
Anjihai Town has become famous the world over due to one canyon in particular.
一条峡谷成为安集海镇闻名于世的理由。
The river, which originates in the Tianshan Mountains,rushes down the steep slopes,carving its way through escarpments formed over millenia.
发源于天山的河流从陡坡冲下用漫长的时间在大地上切出延绵的悬崖。
The canyon is about 30 kilometers in length,with the valley floor being 3 to 4 hundred meters at its widest,while the narrowest part is only two or three meters.
峡谷全长约三十公里谷底最宽处达到三四百米窄处只有两三米。
From above,Anjihai Grand Canyon is rich in colors.
从高空看安集海大峡谷色彩丰富。
On either side of the canyon,red sandstone and gray mudstone alternate to create an astonishing landscape.
峡谷两侧红色砂岩和灰色泥岩交错分布呈现出奇异的景观。
The colors are formed as the river erodes and dissolves the sandstone and mudstone,drawing abstract pictures on the land.
河流将不同颜色的砂岩和泥岩冲刷溶解在大地上描绘出抽象画。
It is one of the most beautiful and yet virtually unknown canyons in Xinjiang.
这是新疆峡谷中最瑰丽也是最寂寂无闻的一条峡谷。
Because it is so hidden and the land on either side of the canyon are the same height,people sometimes come across it without warning.
由于它实在是太过隐蔽峡谷两岸的地面高度相近人们有时一直走到它的跟前才会猛然惊醒。
If they don't stop in time,then they could easily plunge off the cliff.
如果不及时止步有可能要摔下万丈悬崖。

第2集
巴音布鲁克草原
Nestled among the Tianshan Mountains in China's Xinjiang, lies the Bayanbulak Grassland,the largest alpine grassland in China.
在中国新疆天山中部的山脉之中，隐藏着中国最大的高山草原，巴音布鲁克草原。
It covers an area of more than 23,000 square kilometers.
它的面积超过了23000平方公里。
Bayanbulak means“rich spring water”in Mongolian.
巴音布鲁克在蒙古语中的意思是丰富的泉水。
The surrounding snowy peaks act like a huge reservoir, delivering abundant water resources to the grassland and forming a huge number of lakes and marshes.
草原的四周被雪山环抱,雪山犹如一个巨大的水库，给草原带来丰沛的水源,形成了大量的湖泊和沼泽湿地。
On the Flat grassland,even a small force can alter the direction of a river.

Kaidu River, which is composed of melt water from the Tianshan Mountains, has a total length of more than 500 kilometers，and has more than 10,000 bends.

Find the right view point, and as the sun sets, it's possible to see the refleetion of -nine suns.
太阳露山时，只要找准最佳观赏点，人们甚至能同时看到9个太阳的倒影。
The grassland interiot'is a paradise for animals. In March each year, juvenile swans set off from India and other distant parts of the world, southern Africa to live and breed here.

For the young swans, las they learn to fly ,the Himalayas pose their first challenge.

冰川下的鲜红岩石
There is a rare spectacle to be found at the end of the glaciers beneath the main peak of a mountain area in southwestern China.
在中国西南山地的主峰下冰川的尽头有一种罕见的奇观。
The surface of the rocks here is an eye catching bright red.
这里的岩石表面颜色鲜红令人无比惊奇。
This is the heart of the Hengduan Mountains, a mountainous region in southwestern China.
这是中国西南山地横断山的核心。
145 snowy peaks over 5,000 meters above sea level are clustered here, forming an amazing group of mountains.
145座海拔5000米以上的雪峰就在这里密集地簇立着形成一片梦幻般的角峰群。
The highest peak, Gongga Mountain, is 7,556 meters above sea level.
其中的最高峰叫贡嘎山海拔7556米。
It is the highest point in the mountainous area of Southwest China.
是中国西南山地的最高点。
Its giant conical peak is the cradle of glacier formation, from which 74 mature glaciers extend in all directions.
它巨大的锥壮主峰正是冰川生成的中心74条成熟的冰川就由此朝着四面八方向下延伸。
The Hailuogou Glacier in the east has a huge icy waterfall measuring 1,100 meters wide, with a drop of more than 1,000 meters.
位于东面的海螺沟冰川拥有1100米宽落差超过1000米的巨大的冰瀑布。
The strong thawing effect leads to frequent massive icy avalanches.
强烈融冻作用让大规模的冰崩几乎成了这里的常态。
Giant glaciers descend all the way into dense forests.

With its tip extending to 2,850 meters above sea level, it is the lowest maritime glacier in Asia.

Bright red rocks can be seen almost everywhere in the valley at the end of the glacier.

Scientists have found that the red blood color on the stone is not from a mineral, but a rare parasite, a rare lichen complex.

Whenever the temperature and humidity are right, they spread across the rock surface, dyeing the rocks bright red.

Taken away from the mountains however, they quickly change color and die.

冰之花
During the winter in China's Heilongjiang Province,it is not uncommon to see temperatures below Minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Despite the intense cold,'flowers' still find a way to bloom.
尽管天寒地冻这里也开花。
In the right place,with the right conditions,these flowers spread across the tops of the trees.
只要天时地利冰之花将开满树冠。
Every year, Kurbin enjoys a "flower season"of up to four months.
每年库尔滨都会有一个长达四个月的”花季“。
This amazing ice flower spectacle can be experienced from December to March each year.

Ice flowers are officially known as "rime".
冰之花正式的名字叫做”雾凇“。
In extremely cold weather,the nearby hydropower station continuously discharges hot water.

The water vapor evaporates from the surface of the water,forming a dreamy drifting white mist.
水面源源不断蒸发出的水汽白雾腾腾经久不散。
Much of the water vapor turns into ice at night as temperatures drop,which then settles on the tree branches,creating this fantastical sight.
大量聚集在空中的水蒸气在夜晚遇冷形成冰凌聚集在树枝表面才出此奇观。
As you walk beneath the trees covered with rime sometimes you can hear the sound of ice crystals growing and then falling .

The rime absorbs all the sounds around,creating a tranquil fairy tale world.

不冻之河
In Winter, Arxan, a city in northern China becomes a world of ice.
冬天 中国北部的阿尔山市切换到了冰雪世界的模式。
Its rivers become frozen All except one.
市境内大大小小的河流悉数封冻但有一段河流例外。
Upstream of the Khalkhyn Gol River, there is a stretch around 20 Kilometres long.
这是哈拉哈河上游的一段河流长约20公里。
Even in winter, when the air temperature typically drops to minus 40 to 30 degrees celsius, this section remains ice free.
即使在冬天低至零下三四十度的气温也不能使其封冻。
People call it The Unfrozen River.
人们称它为不冻河。
Its secret lies deep beneath the river bed, Where the river passes over an area of geothermal activity near Arxan.
不冻河的秘密深藏在水面之下与阿尔山的火山群密切相关。
The heat from below, raises the temperature allowing the river water to stay above freezing point.

And so it remains ice free.

吹来的大地
The Earth is a place of endless wonderWhere landscapes are often created from mere dust.

The Loess Plateau is such a place.

It is located in the north of centralChina, and contains 70% of the loess on the planet.
它地处中国中部偏北，汇集了这颗星球上70%的黄土。
It is hard to imagine a time when it didnot exist.
难以想象，它原先并不存在。
But this yellow land was created byparticles carried by the wind.
这片黄土地是被风吹来的。
The entire mega landscape has a total areaof 620,000 square kilometers.

Even seen from above, it's hard tocomprehend the sheer size of it.

The loess dune is dozens of meters high,and 300 metres at its thickest.

Because tiny dust particles are carried thefurthest, they came to test in the southeastern most part of the plateau.

The sand in the northwest part of theplateau is much rougher.

Where the river crossed, an alluvial plainwas deposited.

磁铁山脉里的天坑与地漏
In southwest China, there is a rift zone with a length of more than 300 kilometers and a width of tens to hundreds of kilometers, which is called the Panxi Rift Valley.
在中国西南部有一个长三百余公里宽数十公里到数百公里不等的裂谷带攀西大裂谷。
With untouched forests, mountains, sinkholes and floor drains and other geological wonders, this place is known as the "natural geological museum".
这里有着原始森林高山风光 天坑地漏等地质奇观被誉为天然地质博物馆。
And the most amazing thing is the mountains are magnetic.
而其中最神奇的地方是山体带有磁性。
It is said that an ancient Silk Road once crossed the Panxi Rift Valley.
相传 曾经有一条丝绸古道从攀西大裂谷穿过。
At that time, when some peddlers of pig-iron passed through the mountains in Panxi, they occasionally reported that the load was getting much heavier, and found it harder to walk.
当时贩运毛铁的背夫经过攀西一带的群山时不时感觉背驮的东西沉重了许多迈步艰难。
After leaving the area,they suddenly felt relaxed again.
走出这个区域忽然又轻松了起来。
What they didn't know at the time was they had passed by a succession of magnet mines.
他们那里知道他们经过的是一座座的磁铁矿山。
Even more secrets are hidden on the western edge of the Panxi Rift Valley, where there's a place called Gesala.
更多的秘境藏在攀西大裂谷的西缘有一个叫格萨拉的地方。
According to a popular local legend, Gesala was built by fairies from heaven, and it is the nearest mysterious place to the sun.
当地名间流传格萨拉是天上的仙女到人世建造的离太阳最近的神秘之地。
Due to erosion and large fractures the unique karst landform of Gesala has been created.
在这里强烈的地质作用造就了格萨拉奇特的喀斯特地貌。
Within tens of square Kilometers, there are more than 600 sinkholes and floor drains, a huge underground river, and rolling mountain meadows, which combine to form a primitive and beautiful natural scenery.
数十平方公里的范围内又六百多个天坑地漏流量巨大的地下暗河与连绵起伏的高山草甸组合成了原始而幽美的自然风光。
It is also a beautiful paradise where people live in harmony with nature.
也是人与自然和谐共生的美丽天堂。

大风雕刻的魔鬼城
In Gansu Province in Northwest China, there are more than 5,000 mounds on the desolate Gobi Desert.
在中国西北部的甘肃省荒凉的戈壁滩上分布着5000多座土丘。
Such a landform is called a Yardang.
这种地貌被称为雅丹。
Walking through the area, you can hear the eerie howling winds.
穿行其中你可以听到凄厉的风声。
They've not only given this place the name "The Place of Devils", but also carve the Yardang landform into different shapes.
狂风不仅赋予这里魔鬼城的名字也雕刻出雅丹地貌不同的姿态。
Wind speeds here can reach up to Force 12.
这里地处风口最大风力可达12级。
Sometimes as fast as the running speed of a cheetah, the fastest animal on land, and strong enough to lift a 10 meter high wave.
风速与陆地上最快的动物猎豹相当风力足以掀起10米高的巨浪。
These mounds, which were originally sediment layers at the bottom of the lake, are not strong enough to withstand the insistent winds.
这些土丘原本是沉积在湖底的泥沙岩层根本不足以抵抗强劲的大风。
The sand and stones picked up by the wind are like weapons, hacking away the rock surface and carving out a variety of shapes, giving full play to the imagination.
被吹掉的沙砾 石块在风中仿佛利器刺向前方的岩壁打磨出多种形状面对这些土丘人们可以尽情发挥想象力。
A bird's-eye view reveals a regular layout of the mounds.
从高空俯瞰你会发现土丘的布局是有规律的。
They are all the same height and direction, and look like a great fleet sailing across the Gobi Desert.
它们高度相当方向一致如同一支行驶在戈壁滩上的远航舰队。

第09集
大漠奇观 月牙泉
The Singing Sands Mountain is located in Dunhuang in western China.
鸣沙山位于中国西部的敦煌。
As you walk through the quicksand or slide down a sand mountain, sometimes you can hear loud noises from beneath your feet.
在流沙中行走或从沙山滑落沙粒都会发出巨大声响。
Hence the name'The Singing Sands Mountain'.
鸣沙山正是因此得名。
Nestling between the tall sand dunes, there is a little miracle.
高大的沙丘之间隐藏着一处奇观。
This spring, which looks like a crescent moon, has existed for thousands of years and has never dried up.
这汪酷似月牙的泉水已经存在了数千年从未干涸。
The formation and continuous existence of the Crescent Spring are all related to its topography.
月牙泉形成与延续的原因都和它的地势有关。
The flowing water converges here along the terrain and overflows through a porous geological layer to form the Crescent Spring.
流水顺着地势汇聚到这里透过松软的地质层溢出来形成月牙泉。
Although it's extremely dry here, with the annual evaporation being more than 60 times that of the annual precipitation, the stable water source ensures a sustainable water supply to the spring.
尽管这里极为干旱年蒸发量达到年降水量的60倍以上稳定的水源依然可以持续带来补给。
It's also due to the low-lying terrain.
同样是由于地势低洼。
Whenever there's a sandstorm, it forms an upward spiral air flow between the surrounding sand mountains, sending the sand at the foot back to the top of the sand mountain, saving the Crescent Spring from being swallowed by quicksand.
当风沙袭来会在周围的沙山之间形成回旋向上的气流将山脚的沙子送回到高大的沙山上因此 月牙泉从未被流沙吞噬。
The ancient Silk Road once passed by the Crescent Spring.
古代丝绸之路曾经在月牙泉经过。
And today, it has become a romantic paradise for visitors.
